Oh hi there!
My name is Kate, although my grandma calls me “Katusha”, and many of my friends call me “SOLO”. Katusha – because I was born and raised in Siberia, Russia. SOLO – because non-Russian speakers cannot for the life of them pronounce my last name – Solovieva – and, so it got shortened, and also became my racing nickname. It’s pretty badass, don’t you think?
I am a psychology college professor turned coach.
Even though I still roll my eyes when someone calls themselves a coach. Kind of like when someone calls themselves an influencer. What the hell does that mean, really? One client used to refer to me as his “head coach”, and that probably feels the most accurate.
I am a mother, and I still don’t know how I feel about that.
Motherhood is fun, and wild though, and I like both of those things. I also do really well in chaos (handy for working with clients with busy lives too!).
My alter-ego is Tigger. The bouncy pouncy one from Winnie the Pooh? Yep, that’s the one. I am also the world’s greatest hugger.
I take my bucket list (a little too) seriously. For example, I’ve always wanted to dress up as Trinity from the Matrix for Halloween. When I did, it was epic.
(Yep, that’s me).
I love peanut butter, coffee, the colour orange, and long gruelling races in exotic destinations. I also like stickers. On notebooks. On my car. In general.
A friend once called me irreverent. I looked it up, and learned that it can mean many things, but mostly it means “lacking seriousness”, “courageous and saucy, but likely to offend”. I think it’s perfect.
Hugs,
SOLO
