  • CrossFit
    • warm-up: 30sec each of squats / push-ups / burpees / plank / mountain climbers
    • Clean & Jerk 1-1-1-1-1-1-1
    • 20 GHD sit-ups

Apparently, my clean is “horrific”, and my jerk is “awesome”. I definitely struggle with the whole clean and jerk – it’s a very complex compound movement, and I think too much. It’s like having to learn to drive standard all over again.

  • 365 Days of Fitness Challenge
    • jog 1 mile
    • 25 sit-ups
    • 25 pushups
    • 25 burpees
    • 25 squats
    • 20 lunges (10 per leg)
    • 75 jumping jacks
    • 2 minute plank
    • 2x 60 second wall sits

  2. I struggled with my cleans for awhile so I tended to avoid anything to do with hang clean, power clean, clean and jerk. What worked for me was getting comfortable about “catching” the bar with chest/shoulders. The guy that I worked with said it was a problem of velocity. He had me clean an empty bar, but not catch it and just let it “hang” or “hover” near where I was supposed to catch it then just let it fall. From there I just practiced that move over and over. Not that I’m a god when it comes to cleans but it helped me become “tolerable” from “wtf is that guy doing” phase. Anyway, I hope that helps but I’m pretty sure you have excellent coaches and support! Be well!!
